Celebrity Stylists – meet their glam team!

November 16, 2016

The life of a celebrity stylist sounds glamorous: fancy parties, an endless stream of brand name samples, hobnobbing with some of the most fascinating women in Hollywood, and being on the forefront of fashion trends. Sure, top stylists can earn in the high three-figures for a day of work during the awards show season, but the pressure to get it right is enormous.

As a stylist, you have to both be ahead of the curve and perennially focused on the next red carpet to be successful. Not to mention, actresses have strong opinions, insecurities and colorful personalities, just like any woman. Those are a few of the considerations that come into play when celebrity stylists start creating a look for their public appearances. It takes a keen eye for fashion, a passion for creativity, and a relentless work ethic to be a celebrity stylist.

Elizabeth Stewart

Clients: Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain, Julia Roberts, Amanda Seyfried

Elizabeth is best known for her high-concept shoots that bring together the glitz and glamor of Hollywood stars with the creativity and imagination of fashion editorials.

Erin Walsh

Clients: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kristen Wiig

Walsh has a knack for finding the delicate balance in contradiction (what she calls the “odd bird” looks) that keeps her clients ahead of the curve and is constantly bringing an element of surprise.

Leslie Fremar

Clients: Julianne Moore, Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, and Scarlett Johansson

Fremar is known for her sophisticated, discerning and impeccable eye. Her work is recognizable because it’s always very clean and sharp. For her, fashion is art.

Kate Young

Clients: Selena Gomez, Dakota Johnson, Sienna Miller, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams

Young’s approach to celebrity styling is to put the wearer’s needs first – make everyone look like themselves. Her looks are clean, cool and collected and comfort is always in mind.

Micaela Erlanger

Clients: Lupita Nyong’o, Jared Leto, John Boyega, Hilary Swank

A self-proclaimed “vintage-a-holic, and glamour girl,” the hallmark of Micaela’s work is her meticulous attention to detail and mix of beauty and whimsy.

Petra Flannery

Clients: Lupita Nyong’o, Jared Leto, John Boyega, Hilary Swank

Clients: Daisy Ridley, Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana, Amy Adams, Gwen Stefani, Carey Mulligan

Flannery approach is straightforward and open, but her reputation is for her playful choices with a fashion edge. She’s best known for her bold statement ensembles.

Celebrity fashion stylists are responsible for forecasting trends, identifying designers, and understanding clothing design and textiles. A typical week may consist of selecting the clothing for editorial features, advertising campaigns, music videos, concert performances, or any public appearance for their clients.

Take some courses in fashion design. Look for classes that cover topics including fashion forecasting, clothing and accessory design, color theory and business practices. These courses teach important career skills, such as researching design styles, blending fashions, selecting fabrics, and marketing new looks.

Get some industry experience. Most professionals in the fashion design industry learn about the business through internships or entry-level positions with professional stylists, designers, or fashion retailers. This real-world training is invaluable in networking with other industry professionals and learning the skills necessary to be successful.

Build a portfolio. Portfolios are used as a way to impress and attract potential clients. Celebrity stylist portfolios include pictures of past clients, but you can also collect some of your favorite online social looks that you put together for yourself and friends. The key is to show your style and highlight your talent, in whichever way makes most sense for you.

Keep up with style trends. The celebrity fashion industry is highly influenced by changes in the economy, politics and technology, and celebrity stylists must stay on top of these changing trends to dress clients in the latest styles. Conduct research, go out on the town, shop, and always be bold and forward in your thinking and how you dress.

And don’t forget, stylists have help. Other industry professionals are on-hand to handle hair, makeup, skincare and nutrition. Each are all essential to a celebrity looking their best. Together, the glam team and the stylists, bring a look to life that will be talked about for years to come.

Pamper Yourself Today – You Deserve It!

November 9, 2016

Every now and then, don’t you want to escape from your daily routine and the busyness of everyday life? If your day consists of crazy deadlines, a cranky boss, and a mind-numbing commute, you probably feel run down, stressed out, depleted, or like you need a kick-start to reinvigorate your senses. In order to get your life back in balance, it may be time to put yourself first for a change. It doesn’t have to be costly or time-consuming, but taking care of yourself is critical if you want to maintain a sense of sanity.

The best way to relieve stress is to chuck your to-do list and check out for a while. Focus on your needs, from wake-up to lights-out, until you are refreshed, emotionally recharged, and ready to dive back in. If you can’t do that, at least take an hour or two for some self-care.

Spa Day
Picture a calm, tranquil environment. Soft, harmonious music is playing through discrete speakers. Flickering candles light the space with a romantic glow, emitting such a delightfully fragrant smell that you’re tempted to linger a bit longer. If you can, escape for a few hours, or the full day, for some professional pampering.

Scope out your neighborhood for a gourmet chocolate shop and treat yourself to three (or four or five) luscious truffles. Make sure you eat them slowly, savoring the flavors; make the experience last. If you’re not into chocolate, try a glass of wine, your favorite meal or a new restaurant that is on your wish list.

Soak in a Hot Tub
What could be more relaxing than submerging yourself in a warm bubble bath and escaping into a good book? Add some essential oils (lavender, chamomile and mint are especially lovely), dim the lights, light a candle, close your eyes, and give yourself a full hour to unwind.

Relax with Meditation
Pamper yourself every day through meditation. Meditation helps you relax, and it also has a number of other health benefits. It can reduce anxiety, depression and stress and help build self-confidence. For some quick peace of mind, pause in your day and focus on your breathing.

Buy yourself a fresh bouquet of flowers to display in your home. It’s a little way to treat yourself while also adding color to your surroundings. Take a literal moment each day to stop and smell the roses in your life and connect to nature.

You’ve probably experienced a little shop therapy every now and then, but one thing that often gets neglected, which can make you feel feminine and confident. is new underthings. Toss out all your raggedy, stretched-out underwear and get some sexy new ones for an instant mood boost.

Power Nap
If you need a quick recharge, don’t rely on caffeine or other stimulants. Take a quick nap to restore your mental alertness and combat fatigue. You can get incredible benefits from 15 to 20 minutes of napping. A quick siesta is better than a cup of Joe and will stave on any crankiness.

For true pampering, as much of your day as possible should be an escape from the regular routine of your life. Consider finding ways to get outside to enjoy the escape that nature can offer. Exercise and fresh air can help rejuvenate you, and can provide you with a chance to reflect.

Start your holiday shopping now!

November 2, 2016

We are on the cusp of the wonderful season when retailers start offering an endless line of sales between now and the end of the year. While gift giving can be a blast, holiday shopping in the midst of other seasonal activities can take a toll on your sanity, and your wallet. Don’t let shopping cloud the magic of the holiday season. Do it early and beat the last minute madness! By getting it out of the way early your holiday season will be a little—or a lot—less stressful. And as a bonus, you will miss those crowded stores, long lines and grouchy shoppers.

Shopping early can also be beneficial in keeping a budget, since it allows you to spread out the expense of buying presents throughout the year. Plus, you won’t have to scramble to get things delivered by Christmas, which lets you take advantage of free shipping offers. Before you get started, here a few tips to stay on-track.

Know who you are buying gifts for. That’s right, make a list and check it twice (sound familiar?). Whether you are someone who shops only for family, or your gift giving extends to neighbors and co-workers, know who you have to buy for before you start your shopping.

Set a budget. If you are finding good deals you may be tempted to keep swiping that credit card. A good rule of thumb is to put some budget parameters together before you start so you don’t overspend and end up in holiday debt.

Decide on what sort of gift matches each person on your list. This is the fun part where you get to brainstorm. Give yourself the flexibility to pivot as necessary, but having something in mind will keep you from giving mindless tchotchkes and can give you direction on which sites to shop first.

Have a schedule. Similar to having a budget, give yourself a cutoff date so you can focus the last few weeks on enjoying the season. Whenever you’re out and about, always check the clearance rack. By constantly looking for a deal, you’ll run across gifts for the loved ones in your life.

Get a head start and check out these web resources for the best deals!

dealnews This is a great resource as they do all the hard work, which is actually finding the deals, and their readers capitalize. Be sure to check it first thing in the morning, otherwise the really good deals are gone.

Slickdeals is an online forum for frugal people — who better to trust. You can find trending deals from all over the net, often before they are even posted on other sites.

Retailmenot has great deals on the hottest products. You can get discounts with coupon and promo codes for thousands of online stores or save in-store with printable coupons.

Money Savings Expert posts discounts and deals on their Vouchers, Hot Bargains and Sales pages. Aside from that they also have calculator tools and informative articles to help you save money.

Oh, and don’t forget to start looking for liquor and soft drink sales at least one month ahead. These are items you can stock up on well ahead of the rush. Bevmo has deals throughout the year that will save you big during the holidays.

Easy and Fun Halloween Costumes!

October 19, 2016

Halloween is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start looking for the perfect costume to mix and mingle on the scariest night of the year with your creative friends. Whether you’re aiming to be scary, funny or ironic, keep in mind you don’t have to spend three hours doing your makeup or hundreds of dollars on what to wear to slay this Halloween. Ghosts and demons are scary, the price tag of your costume should not be. Besides every fashionista knows it is more fun to make your own unique costume rather than pick one up off the shelf.

Dressing up is one of the best things about Halloween, but before you head out to the store, shop your closet first. You probably have a number of pieces that will make a great ready-made costume, then simply add a few great items from a thrift store or craft store, put on a little makeup, and there you go! Check out these easily recognizable character ideas that are feminine, fun and totally doable with the right pieces from your wardrobe.

If you want to do something smart, a little tongue-in-cheek, and totally different than everyone else, you have to go with a pun costume. You may roll your eyes every time you see one, but admit it — you kinda love them. And so does everyone else. This approach is especially great for the woman who doesn’t like to dress up, but wants to join in the pun.

Horror costumes for women range anywhere from classic monster outfits, and sexy gothic costumes to popular horror costumes from TV and movies. Scaring the crap out of your friends is the essence of Halloween. So if you are the type of woman who wants to go a bit darker this holiday, wear something that will give them the chills.

Whatever kind of costumes you will wear this Halloween; remember that you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Be original, and put together your own masterpiece based on your personality, your body type and your mood. Oh, and don’t forget to dress up your little critter so they can join in the fun. Happy haunting!

Great style starts with a solid foundation

October 5, 2016

Shapewear is every woman’s best friend and your secret weapon for disguising any lumps and bumps. You don’t have to wear something that’s going to completely change your figure, but there are ways to enhance your silhouette and smooth, lift and flatten it in all the right places. Whether you’re a size 2 or 22, sometimes the only way to look truly polished is to put something sleek on underneath.

The “Pooch”
For women who don’t love their tummies but want to show off their killer legs, try a hi-waist shape brief. It tightens the belly area without constricting the thighs.

Buy it: Sensational Smoothing Hi-Waist Shape Brief from Wacoal, $48

“Chub Rub”
To prevent chafing, and eliminate the skin irritation between your legs, without feeling like you’re wearing bulky shapewear, bottom-half only options are the way to go.

Buy it: Featherlight Control Short from Commando, $54

The “Muffin Top”
If you’re looking to smooth pesky muffin tops, it’s best to wear a shaping tank. This is a hybrid of a shaping camisole and bra, which smooths out your entire back and lifts your breasts, all in one piece.

Buy it: Tankee Long from Shapeez, $89

The “Spare Tire”
The trick to creating a slim waist while still being able to breath is an open-bust shaper. It tightens the areas you want, but won’t flatten your chest.

Slimplicity Open-Bust Mid-Thigh Bodysuit from Spanx, $84

The “Flat Bum”
To give your butt a boost, consider wearing a butt bra which underwear designed to shape, lift, and tone your derriere using strategic padding and fabric.

Buy It: Magic Benefit Butt Lifter Padded Panty from Leonisa, $30

1. Don’t try to size down, that only causes bulges, discomfort, and can make you look bigger. Go to a store and try on shapewear pieces to see what fits best on you. Sit down and walk around while you wear it to make sure that you feel comfortable and that the piece stays in place.

2. The higher the nylon content, the more a garment will alter your shape. Feel the fabric and if it’s lightweight and slips through your hands, it’s designed to smooth out targeted spots on your figure. Heavier pieces have compression zones that will suck and tuck your body into shape.

3. Don’t wear them with tights. Putting nylon blends next to each other will cause your tights to shift to the side, and it creates an extra layer in the thigh region causing seams to show through your clothes. That defeats the purpose!

4. Consider the temperature. Shapewear is typically made of nylon and spandex fabrics that don’t breathe. That’s fine in colder climates where you want to retain body heat, but in the warmer months, or more temperate climates, it makes you more prone to sweat. Several brands sell summer shapewear, lighter versions of their original products, designed with breathability in mind.

The right bra will only make you look thinner, but it can help you feel more confident in your skin. Many are breathable, provide coverage and have a natural shape that feels great to wear and gives a seamless, natural shape under any outfit.

The key to shopping for a bra is getting the right fit. An ill-fitting bra is not only uncomfortable, if it’s too tight, your breasts pillow out, and if it’s too loose, it will leave a gap between your bra and your breasts. While it is recommended to visit a department store or boutique once a year that offers expert fittings, if you are going it on your own, focus on these four criteria: how the cups fit; whether the front band touches the sternum; the shape of the underwire; and the length of the straps.

Try on more than one size.
There’s no standard fit among bra manufacturers, so the size you buy can vary by brand and cut. Don’t get hung up on a letter or number, go for comfort.

Try different brands.
Try on different designers to see which one accommodates your size and body type best. No one brand fits all. You’ll know it’s the right fit when your breasts are separated, supported, and lifted up and away from the rib cage.

Don’t put up with pain.
Your bra should not hurt you. If the wire is digging into your flesh it is because your cup size is too small. The wire needs to be completely around the breast. If it’s not, go down one band size and up one cup size to get more comfortable.

Know the different styles.
Different bra styles can create varying effects. A demi lifts and separates; a push-up enlarges and lifts; plunge is best for lower-cut tops; and full coverage is ideal for high cut necklines.

The most flattering winter coats for your curves

September 15, 2016

Staying warm during the winter should be easy as there is such a large choice of coat styles to choose from. But, while women spend hours worrying about whether their jeans make their bottoms look big, or spend hours finding tops that won’t make their arms look chubby, very few consider that the wrong coat can make you look larger than you are. No matter what you decide to wear to fight the bitter cold of winter, make sure you’re looking fabulous – and not supersized. There are plenty of coats to flatter your curves.

Let’s start with a quick tip: when you are shopping for a coat, wear the type of clothes that you normally wear when it’s cold out. The coat needs to fit over your sweaters without binding. You should be able to bend over, raise your arms and move all around without pulling or creating bulges that will make you look heavier. The right fit makes all the difference in keeping you warm and keeping you stylish.

Down coats have been around forever, but let’s face it, they can be hideous. Women often hide behind their utility, but there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about wearing a bloated tube. It is possible to find a down coat that is fashionable and doesn’t make you look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Look for coats that have smaller quilted patterning (instead of large square panes), cinch at the waist, have drawstrings that nip the waist, or better yet – ones that come with a belt. If you’re going to wear it a crisp white with pretty accents and a tailored fit.

Check out Patagonia who designs their coats to emphasize the lines of a woman’s body—and prevent the disappearance of the waist into goose-down oblivion.

The trick to wearing the perfect winter coat is finding the right balance between style and function. Sure, looking slim in cozy winter coats can be a challenge, but it’s not impossible. You can stay warm and look chic without having to bulk up.

For more formal wear, try a longer and tailored look which is in-style this winter. Think long lines and fabric with plenty of warmth, that still gives the impression that you have a figure underneath. This style is sophisticated and sexy for both day and evening and can be paired with dresses, pants or a suit underneath for an incredibly cozy and put together look.

Check out L.L. Bean or Macy’s who sell coats will make you look two inches taller and a couple of pounds lighter, even with a sweater underneath.

Elegant and trendy, a great wool Poncho will have you looking stylish without sacrificing comfort. It is not only warm, but also soft and can be worn to just about any event or on a daily basis with a great pair of boots.

If you live in the South where it gets cold, but not as arctic as the polar vortex in the North, this is a great alternative to consider. It works well with jeans or tights and is a great layering piece for going indoor and out.

Both Nordstrom and Lord & Taylor are good places to start your shopping. Add this to your wardrobe if only because you know you’re going to get tired of your fall jackets and coats.

Get out your credit cards, ladies! The winter season is rapidly approaching and you want to be prepared to look your best.

Embrace the casualized style of dressing!

September 10, 2016

You know that gym-to-the-street look that is so vogue right now? It’s called Atleisure. And if you haven’t already given it a try, now is the time. This new style is what you wear when you’re heading to the gym—or the office, mall, or lunch with friends—and is popular because it’s versatile, comfortable look and feel. It’s perfect balance of athletic wear and style is ideal for the on-the-go woman.

Getting the look is super easy. Simply mix sporty basics like bomber jackets, track pants, hoodies, tees, and sneakers into your existing wardrobe. Athleisure is a gorgeous pair of leggings and a loose muscle tee. It’s strappy sports bras and well-cut yoga tanks that make you feel strong and sexy. It is your workout look, amplified!

Anything goes when it comes to comfort, design, and color, but there is a small catch: While you’ll feel relaxed in such pieces, you have to avoid looking sloppy at all costs. Here are some things to keep in mind if are looking for more than just basic style or comfort when it comes to athleisure.

Don’t abandon your signature style. Use bold colors, textures and fabrics to showcase your individuality.

Do accessorize with jewelry. Gold hoop earrings or a thin chain necklace elevate a sporty look.

Don’t wear anything ratty. Clothes with tears and stains are never acceptable.

Do know where you stand on the leggings-as-pants trend, and always keep in mind how to dress best for your body shape.

Whether you’re breaking a sweat or not, athletic staples are changing the way we do casual. Forget ‘casual Friday’—it’s now casual 24/7. If you’ve crossed over into the land of atleisure, you know your stuff, but to really step it up, you’re going to want to familiarize yourself with some up-and-coming brands that will keep you feeling original.

If the idea of wearing sweats or gym clothes out in public strikes you as a little odd, maybe it is because all of your workout clothes are boring! These brands will bring the look to life without breaking your budget.

No matter what you’re up to, live your busy lives in style. Bike to work without needing to pack another outfit. Head to a yoga class after lunch with your girlfriends. Pick up something at the mall before a crossfit session. Don’t worry about packing extra clothes or taking time to change; instead, save time and energy by getting dressed for the day once—and one time only. If this epitomizes your day, it’s definitely time to give the atleisure style a go.

Mark your calendar and tune-in to QVCUK on Tuesday, September 20th when I will share my latest collection live. The midnight hour is a special Today’s Special you won’t want to miss. Let’s Look At The Most Political Outfits in Fashion!

August 24, 2016

The elections are right around the corner and as a nation we will once again get the privilege of voting in a new President. As a fashion designer and die-hard style innovator, political wardrobes have always fascinated me. They communicate so much about a candidate, a political party, and a nation, without saying a word. As you know, the role of fashion in politics encompasses more than campaign buttons, election t-shirts, and the designer preferences of politicians. Clothing choices help sell a political message. The fashion statements worn on the campaign trail, and on the stage at both conventions, tell a story of our country. And if you look closely, they have much deeper meaning than simple cut and color. Good politicians know that their ability to convey an idea, a mood, and an indefinable something is communicated with words, gestures, and with style.

Hillary Clinton loves monochromatic looks. She’s worn nearly every color of the rainbow, which is why when she took to the Democratic National Convention stage in a crisp, white and well-fitted pantsuit, she looked positively Presidential. Her hair was freshly cut, frosted, styled and feathered, and her earrings sparkled. She seemed happy, sounded excited, and appeared hopeful. That was all reflected in her clothes.

Her daughter Chelsea introduced her, looking sleek in a bright red sheath. Red was a bold choice, and probably had more to do with the love for her mom rather than a reference to the Republican party. Her cheeks were blushed and she looked credible and composed. She has definitely grown up since her childhood days in the White House.

First Lady Michelle Obama stole the show at the Democratic National Convention. Not only was her speech inspiring, but she wore a blue silken belted T-shirt –style fit and flare dress in royal blue that was stunning. The dress was custom-made just for her, and her elegance filled the arena. With hair feathered to perfection, glossy nude lips, peach-hued cheeks and to-die-for brows, her look was a symbol of unity.

Elizabeth Warren’s sleeves are always rolled up — literally and metaphorically. If her jacket sleeves are not cropped, then they are folded back. In her own tailored, jewel-tone way, she is signaling her intention to move the party from abstract policy promises into pure action.

Ivanka Trump wore a simple blush-pink shift dress when she gave a rousing address on behalf of her businessman father, Donald Trump, at the Republican convention. This dress got a lot of attention as it is a low-cost style from her very own fashion line. Consequently, it sold out shortly after her speech. Her look was soft and sophisticated to balance out her father’s more boisterous tone.

Melania Trump-roksana-cotton

The off-white Roksanda cotton and satin long-sleeved sheath worn by Melania Trump was simply lovely. On a strictly fashion note, the white sheath with its fluted sleeves and very cool exposed zipper down the back made for an exquisitely put together, if not angelic, look. This is not the first time a powerfully political woman has worn this designer. It is modern, simple and model worthy.

Sarah Palin returned to center stage to endorse GOP front-runner Donald Trump. The former Alaska governor wore a black pencil skirt topped off with a mini black cardigan studded with what looked like needle-thin, glistening stalactites. Her entire speech was filled with demands for attention, but nothing cried out louder than her choice of attire. She came across as someone who has come to steal the spotlight, rather than share it.

I love looking to the fashion of women who have become political style icons. What is great about these political style icons is they do a lot of great work for their countries, and they just happen to look good doing it. But there are other creative fashions that come from their supporters – everyday Americans – who are just as passionate about the future of our great Nation. They came to the conventions with tiny hats, handmade skirts, patriotic manicures and costumes that fused Americana and pop culture. No matter what their political affiliations, their looks are all American.

If you want to express your patriotism through fun red, white and blue clothing, try shopping at Tipsyelves, The Flag Shirt, or Country Club Prep. If it is patriotic jewelry that you seek, check out Bling Jewlery, Kay Jewelers, or even Kohls. Get creative and wear your love of America proudly, like these loyalists.

red hot republican

The focus on appearance is nothing new. Do we care how our leaders look? Of course we do. Style shouldn’t trump substance — but it is definitely a factor. We want our politicians to look good: attractive, fashionable, well dressed, and perfectly groomed. Ultimately, when looking for leaders, we want their style, sexiness, and good looks to go hand in hand with empathy, compassion, and caring. The First Lady is no exception. Often times she sets that standard for the latest fashion trends.

The pale, bubblegum shade of pink from the 1950’s was named after Mamie Doud Eisenhower. The hue was seen in midcentury bathrooms, kitchens, and most memorably, on her famous Nettie Rosenstein inauguration dress that now lives in the Smithsonian. She was the essence of femininity and projected a youthful and stylish image. American women loved her because they identified with her.

While most stylish First Ladies had tastes that created trends, none have had a more enduring influence than Jackie Kennedy. Her sophisticated, chic fashion endures as a model of the highest level of grace and class. Some highlights include her pillbox hats, oversized sunglasses, patterned headscarves and pearls. Her style was optimistic, in the sense that she was living the life everyone wanted to live!

Nancy Reagan often wore her signature shade which was a crimson red, which she called a picker-upper. She commanded tailored suits and countless Oscar de la Renta creations as she hosted chic receptions like they were a grand Hollywood affair. Her daytime clothes were very clean and classic and her style was unquestionably appropriate. She never went to extremes. She was very refined in her fashion choices.

Our current First Lady, Michelle Obama, has been hailed as a style icon. She is not shy about wearing shorts or sleeveless shirts, or at recycling outfits wearing them at multiple occasions. Her approachable, and comfortable style, put her on the map, and her affinity for J. Crew pieces caused sales to skyrocket. She is authentic and always stylish.

Put Your Best Foot Forward This Fall!

July 27, 2016

If you are a woman who loves shoes, consider this your warning to get ready for a shopping spree come late summer. The fall styles generally set the stage for the coming year, and you can expect to see lots of platforms, straps, buckles, and textures on the streets as the season changes. As summer winds down and you tuck away your oh-so-comfy sandals, keep in mind these top footwear trends for the fall.

One of the biggest shoe trends this fall will be wearing a pointy toe. It is much more on the chic side, and the best footwear choice heading into colder temperatures! You will find this look infiltrating both sexy high heels and more walkable flats. To keep your tootsies in maximum comfort, be sure to tape your third and fourth toes together with medical tape. It will alleviate the pressure put on the nerves in your feet.

As much as you may adore a ballet flat, there’s just nothing like a sexy pump. If you are a woman that has an obsession for heels, try this fall lace-up look. It is a versatile way to dress up a pair of jeans, as well as upgrade our day-to-day workwear, and is ideal for women who live in places where the winters are as warm as the summers. You’ll be seeing a whole lot of lacing on clothing this fall as well, for a great pairing.

A fantastic shoe trend for transitioning from the summer months to the fall without sacrificing the beauty of fashionable footwear, go for multiple buckles. Both thick and thin buckles will be all the rage this season. If you are worried about how long it will take to put them on, instead of traditional buckles, opt for the clickable designs.

This season, women’s shoes bring in massive diversity and extreme opposites. Both positively high platforms are in, but so are the sweet, little kitten heels that add just a slight bit of height to the flats and give the arch a bit of support. Not only are they insanely practical, but they are also oh so stylish. These shoes work all year round, and look especially great with cropped trousers.

Now this is a trend that will come in handy for ladies whose larger calves prevent them from finding a good pair of knee-length boots. The mid-calf style is a chic shin-sweeper that is a must-have for autumn. Wear them with a pair of tights and a midi-skirt for a fun look as the days get colder. For those with a bulkier calf, aim for a boot that ends just under the widest part of the muscle. For those with slim limbs, a heel always helps.

Have you noticed that the fall 2016 clothing trends have a lot of sexy slits? The fall shoes have adopted a similar style. While you may want to limit the extent of your cutouts to avoid wet feet in the colder weather, these sexy shoes are great for transitioning the season. They will leave your feet feeling airy and free, even on the gloomiest days. You can even wear them with a pair of socks and still be right on trend.

When you are out updating your wardrobe with the latest sweaters and cardigans, be sure to remember your shoe wardrobe is just important in expressing your personal style. As always, let your shoe collection be a reflection of your personality!

Accessorize to accentuate your personal style!

July 20, 2016

How would describe your personal style? Are you a motor chick, modern minimalist, cool color preppy, or boho global ethnic? Maybe you are cute and girly or spunkier with a touch of glamour? Whatever your personal style, the way you dress and accessorize should reflect and celebrate your life, your individuality, and personality.

Accessories are, without a doubt, the easiest way to pull any look together regardless of the style you want to achieve. You can update jeans and a white t-shirt with a bold necklace or pair layered, delicate jewelry with a dress for a more feminine feel. A cool ear cuff or stacked rings can give you an instant edge, and pearls can make you look polished and lady-like in an instant.

The most recent accessory trend is to wear and abundance of lust-worthy eye candy. Gone are the days of barely-there jewelry and simple slip-on shoes. This season, try a “more-is-more” approach to accessorizing with your heels, bags, sunglasses, and jewelry. Besides, piling on lots of pieces is just more fun!

While it may feel a little foreign if you have a more straightforward style, remember, that’s the point. Take a deep breath, embrace the “wow” factor, and get way out of your comfort zone this season. Trust us, your wardrobe is ready for the boost.

Forget buckling your belt and try tying it instead. It may not always be practical, but it definitely makes a cool corporate-gone-creative statement. It’s also a new twist for bringing in the waist on flowy dresses or structured suiting.

Every woman needs a pair of statement shades, but this doesn’t have to mean wearing a classic aviator shape or oversized cat-eye. Sunglasses are getting weird, and in a really good way. Think smaller and more round to maximize on the latest trends.

Add a little sparkle to your classic summer tank top and liven up your neckline. Dazzling drop earrings are in this season and come in an array of gorgeous shapes, colors, and lengths. Throw your hair in a ponytail, slip on your favorite sleeveless shirt and let your drop earrings shine.

lightweight body chain

If you feel naked without your accessories, but are heading out for day of fun in the sun, a body chain is a great lightweight option that has beach days written all over it. And it’s easier to wear than you think. Wear it with a bikini, to decorate your mid-drift when you wear a crop top, or underneath a sexy cocktail dress for a night out.

Nothing says summer chic like an oversized floppy hat. It will add a touch of elegance to even the most casual outfit; plus, it looks just as fitting at an outdoor wedding as it does on the beach. Not to mention, wide-brim hats offer serious sun protection.

So whether your summer plans include hitting the beach, going camping or going on an awesome vacation, be sure our summer style doesn’t suffer. The sky’s the limit on what you can wear, and accessories are plentiful. Try something new and share your unique style with the world.
